Rusty Clark and Cory Rambo Claim Anglers of the Year.
The fish were biting this weekend.. Anglers Quest last regular season Team Tournament was AWESOME!!! There were 23 teams that came out to fish, and 20 of those caught limits. There were 8 limits that weighed over 20 lbs.!!! Cody Sirmons & Jason Burton won it with a whooping 31.07 lbs. Cody & Jason reported catching their fish on mid & main lake points, in 15 to 20 feet of water,on big red-bug colored worms out of their Triton/Rude rig. They would like to thank Powell Rods & Tri-Lake Tackle for their support. They took home $1,760.00 for their day on Big Sam.
Second place was held down by David Atwell & Ryan O’Neal. They had five bass that weighed 25.73 lbs., with the big bass of the day weighing 7.75 lbs. And they took home the second place and big bass checks totalling $1,080.00.
Third place was held by the team of Phillp Crelia & T.J. Goodwyn. their 5 fish weighed 24.26 lbs and they won $525.00. Their sponsors include; Roco Rescue, Hometown Tackle and Legend Boats.
Fourth place was taken by the young team of Jay Lawson & Gage Lucas. It was Gages very first tournament as he is just 13 years old. Jay & Gage weiged in 5 bass for an awesome 23.65 lbs and they almost pulled out big bass with a 7.72 lb’er…..so close….. These guys still took home $350.00 for their day on the lake. Not to bad for a young new team.They reported catching their fish north on points and deep ledges in 20-25 feet of water on Jigs, Plastics and some Crank Baits. They were running in a Ranger/Yamaha rig and would like to thank Sprint Energy and their parents for all their support and for believing in them.
Clint Wade & Stacy Spriggs took 5th place and the Rayburn Country Stay & Play Gift Certificate ( an overnight stay at rayburn Country resort and a free round of golf ) A big Thank You To Rayburn Country for that !!! Clint and Stacy reported catching their fish on Mid & Main Lake points in 18-20 foot of water on watermelon red Carolina rigged brush hogs. Stacy caught 4 of the 5 fished that they weighed in, not to mention she also caught their biggest fish of the day. Sorry Clint, but you’ve taught her well. They fished out of their Champion /Yamaha rig.
Rusty Clark and Cory Rambo stayed at the top all season long and once again won Anglers of the Year !!!! What an awesome team. And they are not just great fishermen, these are two of the nicest men you’ll ever meet. Plus they each have wonderful wives that support their love of fishing. Congraulations Rusty & Cory on yet another great year !!!!
