Anglers Quest 2013 Lake Houston Individual #7 out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, Tx began this event with 19 anglers showing up to fish for the $1185.00 purse. This 7th event of 2013 was started at 6:00 am. The weigh in time was conducted at 4:00 pm. Any Individual entering 6 of the 8 Houston Individual Series events will automatically qualify for the 2-day Lake Houston Individual Championship. The top Individual in points after 8 events will be declared the Angler of the Year and will be awarded free entries to all 2014 Houston Individual Series events. The Individuals entering all 8 Houston Individual Sunday events will automatically qualify for all 3 of the Lake Series 2-day Championships. Any Individual qualifying for any A/Q Championship will be allowed to enter the “Tournament of Champions” on October 23-27 at Toledo Bend.

Lake Houston water was in good shape and about 1 1/2 feet below normal pool level with water temps running 87-89 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a calm 72 degrees with the day warming up to 96 degrees. The fish catching continues to be good on Lake Mud as there was 6 limits brought to the scales for a total of 61 bass at 148.69 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.43 lb.

Sandro Alfaro from Hull, Tx ran his BassCat/Mercury bass rig to the West & East fork creek areas to catch his bass throwing Tx rigs & spinner baits in 1-3 ft of water around flooded grass and brush. Sandro managed to catch 11 keepers to finish in 1st place with a great bag of 5 bass tipping the scales at 14.57 lbs and made himself $600.00 for his day on the water.

Ben Pope from Splendora, Tx ran his bass rig to north lake creeks to catch his bass throwing tx rigged worms in 2-4 ft of water around flooded grass and brush. Ben managed to catch numerous keepers to finish in 2nd place with a great bag of 5 bass tipping the scales at 13.52 lbs and made himself $275.00 for his day on the water.

Randy Quin from Huffman, Tx ran his Champion/Mercury bass rig to the north & south end of the lake to finish with 5 bass at 12.82 lbs & Big Bass with a 3.73 lber and collected $175.00 for his day of fishing. John Littleton finished in the 1st place out of the money with 11.34 lbs to receive the Rhino Bed Liner $50.00 Gift Card from Martels Welding Works. You must be present at weigh in to collect the gift cards or they are passed to the next boat.

On July 16th A/Q will be at Lake Houston Marina on Lake Houston for the 17th of 23 Houston Tuesday Series events. On July 20th Anglers Quest will remain at Lake Houston for the 7th of 8 Saturday Team Series events. Anglers Quest will be back at Kickapoo Bait & Tackle on Lake Livingston on July 21st for the 7th of 8 Individual Series events.

NOTE Anglers Quest in an effort to increase entries in the Individual Series events on Lake Livingston & Lake Houston has switched the dates of the 2 series events to make the Individual events not fall on the same weekend as the Team events. The 2 remaining Livingston Individual events will be on July 21stAugust 18th. The 1 remaining Houston Individual event will be on August 4th. We do hope this change does not cause anyone any inconvenience…we are trying to make these 2 series better for you and A/Q.
