Expand Series With Two Speed and Singler Speed Models
Three new models of Formula™ lightweight graphite, lever drag reels are being added to Penn’s family of great graphites, which were first introduced last year and quickly won on-the-water approval among serious ocean anglers. Appreciated for their ability to handle a variety of game fish from bluewater billfish, tuna, wahoo and albacore to yellowtail, grouper, amberjacks and more, the Formula™ Series now includes a new two speed model, the Formula™ 24KG, plus two new single speed models, the Formula™ 10LD and 15LD.
The new 50-lb. class 24KG complements the existing 10KG and 15KG models and combines Penn’s legendary two-speed, lever drag performance — controlled by Penn’s exclusive push-button shifting system — with the strength, lightness and corrosion resistance of a one-piece graphite frame. Driven by a speedy 3.4-1 high gear ratio and an all-muscle 1.75-1 low gear ratio, the new Formula™ 24KG holds 600 yds. of 50-lb. line and weighs just 50 ounces.
Expanding the versatility of the series are the new single speed Formula™ 10LD and 15LD models, which are 20-lb. and 30-lb. class reels, respectively, each retrieving at a fast 3.8-1 gear ratio. The new 10LD spools up with 800 yds. of 20-lb. line and weighs just 35 ounces. The larger 15LD holds 600 yds. of 30-lb. line and weighs 38 ounces.
All Formula™ Series reels feature a machined anodized aluminum spool, four sealed stainless-steel ball bearings and machined stainless-steel gears for consistently dependable and smooth performance under the most challenging fish-fighting conditions. The heart of the braking system is Penn’s International® style pre-set lever-drag design, coupled with Penn’s exclusive, battle-proven HT100™ drag material.
With three two speed models and a pair of single speed Formulas™ now comprising the growing graphite lever-drag family, you can now find a precision built, American-made Formula™ reel for your own style of saltwater fishing.
