Tim & Rhonda McDaniel know the meaning of the saying “nevergive up” when it comes to fishing, because the next bite on the nextcast could be the tournament winner. The McDaniels had not boateda fish by 11:00 A.M. and were exhausted from fighting the 25 – 30MPH winds that churned every drop of water in this huge lake. Theytied their boat to a tree and found some black Berkley Power lizards and Tim began to explain the basics of Carolina rigging plastic baits.
Rhonda is a quick study, she had never fished a plastic bait, but afterabout 10 minutes she landed a 3.85 LB Black to anchor their winningstringer of 11.10 LBS.
Garry & Connie Darby used white crank baits on windy points to claim the second place stringer weighing in at 10.55 LBS. Using a pumpkin color Zoom lizard, Lennon Mitchell and Shirley Hedlund were able to weigh in a 4.30 LB Black to take Big Bass of the tournament.
