Anglers Quest 2010 Lake Houston Individual Series Championship is now in the books, and the Individual Series for Lake Houston is complete for 2010. The event began on Friday evening at Lake Houston Marina and the presentation of the special ” Anglers Quest Goal Post” to the new “2010 Angler of the Year”, Chris DiBerardino, Chris will receive free paid entries to all A/Q Lake Houston Individual Series Events in 2011. The Calcutta Auction followed and sold Individuals from $50 to $210 and raised $930.00 to add to the anglers pot. As at all Anglers Quest Championship auctions, there were 10 Limit Stix American Rodsmiths rods auctioned off to raise $ for the “Tournament of Champions” coming up at Lake Palestine in November.
The weather was clear and very nice on Sunday with high 50’s at daybreak to mid 80’s during the day with a brisk southerly breeze for the event on Lake Houston. As the event got underway with the 9 qualified individuals taking off into the dim morning light after the playing of the National Anthem at Lake Houston Marina at 6:55 am. The anglers were all going for the $3,320.00 purse that was the payback by Anglers Quest at this Championship event. The water was in good condition. At the end of the day the 9 teams brought in 4 limits of bass, 25 fish that totaled 56.23 lbs with a 2.24 avg.
Dennis Wells from Humble ran his Bass Guard wrapped Triton/Mercury to North Lake areas and brought in 2 bass at 4.90 lbs to collect the Santone & ZZ Lures gift certificates.
Lanny Diemert from Kingwood ran his Skeeter/Mercury all over Lake Houston to bring 5 bass to the scales at 12.27 lbs caught on tx rigged worms to collect $540.00. Lanny did purchase his self in the Calcutta auction for $100.00 and collected $370.00 for his purchase. Lanny took home a total paycheck of $910.00 for his day on the water.
Randy Quin brought to the scales 5 bass at 12.10 lbs with one of them being a 3.79 lber, 2nd Big Bass of the event and collected 3rd place and $$180.00.
Ricky Guy from Humble fished this event from his Tiremax wrapped BassCat/Rude Bowden Marine ride and brought in 5 bass at 13.45 lbs to claim 1st place and $1400.00. Ricky did purchase himself in the Calcutta auction on Friday night for $160.00. Ricky received a check for his Calcutta 1st place finish for $560.00. Ricky also had the 1st Big Bass at a fine 4.12 lber and received $270.00 for that one bite. Ricky received a total of $2230.00 for his day on the water…..Good Job!!.
Anglers Quest 2011 Schedules are now available online at www.anglers-quest.com. The 1st events for the 2011 season will be the Saturday Series Team event on Sam Rayburn, January 8, & the Individual event on January 9, 2011.
