Toby Davis & Charla Massey win Richland Chambers Tournament

Our first tournament of the year at Richland Chamber was expected to be a very slow and hard tournament as the lake temperature had dropped almost 10 degrees in a week and Richland Chambers was on the rise and muddy. The worst conditions that an angler could ask for – cold & muddy. But it turned out to be a great start for our couples in the Northeast region. With no wind and overcast skies, 80% of our CAST couples brought fish to the scales.

Stopping by an Academy Sports and Outdoor Store to buy a package of Mister Twister Exude Super Lizards paid off big for Toby Davis & Charla Massey who concentrated on a grass bed in the back of a small cut. Their five bass limit weighed in at 16.76 pounds and were caught on a chartreuse Exude lizard in the grass in 3-5 feet of water. Toby said that you could see down about 1 foot into the water that they were fishing. They were rewarded for their days effort with a check for $1,040.00.

Second place with another limit of bass went to Robert & Sherry Moore who had a total of 14.61 lbs.

Third place was less than a once away at 14.55 lbs and this limit was caught by Gary Gruber & Keri Cupp.

Big Bass
The Big Bass of the tournament was landed by Toby Davis and went 6.57pounds. Mark Seymour & Teresa Mason had the second largest fish of the day with a bass weighing 6.21 pounds

Next Tournament Information

You may enter the tournament on Saturday April 9, between 3-5pm at the Lake Palestine Motor Inn, or again on Sunday morning April 10, between 5:30-7am at The Villages Marina.
