Cold north winds did not seem to affect Tom & Debra McCraven, of Longview TX., as they rocked and rolled to their second consecutive CAST East Region win, at Lake O’ the Pines, March 19, 2000. The McCravens managed to sack 22.92 lbs to take first place! Debra also picked an excellent time to land her biggest bass to date, a fish that went 7.11 lbs and took big bass honors for the tournament.
Second place was taken by Rayford and Angela Richman of Scurry TX with a sack full of bass that went 19.06 lbs! Bill and Marcy Murray of Shreveport took third place with a 13.44 lbs, with Marcy Murray also cathcing her biggest fish to date with a fish that went 5.80 lbs and missed second place big bass money by 2/100’s of a pound!
Fourth place was taken by Garey & Starr Furnish of Hallsville, TX with 12.56 lbs, and fifth place was taken by Les and Kathy Kercheval of Pittsburg, TX, with 12.18 lbs. Second place big bass honors were taken by Wes & Toni Lindsey of New Boston with a fish going 5.82 lbs.
Most couples reported that, even though the day started out cold and windy, (and never really changed), they were able to find a few fish that would bite. We look forward to our next tournament on Lake Tyler, April 16, 2000. Congratulations to these talented anglers, (and their husbands!)
