Anglers Quest 2006 Twin Lake Saturday Series #15 on Lake Livingston out of KickApoo Bait & Tackle in Onalaska, TX began this event with 40 teamed anglers showing up to fish this event. The event began at safe light, which was 6:00 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm.

This Saturday Series after all 20 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2007 Saturday Series events. The Top 25 teams will go to the Saturday Series Championship in October on Lake Houston & Lake Livingston. A special Top 5 group of teams will go to the “Tournament of Champions” to be held in November on Lake Tyler with a guaranteed $10,000 being paid to the winner. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to compete for.

Lake Livingston water is in real good shape, and is holding at about 3 ft below normal pool level, with water temps running 86-88 degrees. The weather at takeoff was a very calm 78 degrees with a warming to a very hot and humid 97 degrees by weigh in time. The fishing was a little slow on Livingston today as only 7 limits were brought to the scales for a total of 60 bass at 137.70 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.29 lb.

Travis Robinson from Humble & Ruben DeLeon from Houston, Tx ran Ruben’s Triton/Mercury bass rig to a South main lake 12 ft deep hump with scattered brush to catch their limit of 5 bass casting crank baits, jigs and tubes to end up with an awesome sack at 21.24 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect the $670.00 plus an additional $120.00 for having the 1st big bass of the day, a fine 6.70 lber.

Jeff Jackowski & Steve Cross from Spring, Tx ran Jeff’s Cobra/Mercury bass rig to Kickapoo and various creek areas to finish in 2nd place flipping tx rigged baby brush hogs & casting small cranks to bring in their best 5 bass that tipped the scales at 15.95 lbs which made them $345.00 for their day on the water fishing.

The team of Jerrid Theisen from Huntsville & Dave Roberts from Montgomery, Tx finished in 3rd place today fishing brushy banks with cranks and spinner baits on the north end in 2-5 ft water from Jerrid’s bass rig. Jerrid & Dave collected $240.00 for their limit of 13.48 lbs. And the 2nd Big Bass that tipped the scales at 4.09 lbs.

Jeff Stanley & Jimmy Emmons Jr from Humble, Tx brought in 10.27 lbs to nail down the 4th money spot overall and collected $105.00 for their catch of 5 bass using tx rigged worms and cranks fishing from Jeff’s Champion/Mercury in the south lake area.

A/Q will be back at Kickapoo Bait & Tackle on Lake Livingston next Saturday, August 12 for the 10th of 12 Big Bass Bash events.
