Trombly Wins Bass Fishing League Michgan Division On The Detroit River

WHAT: Boater Michael Trombly of Perrysburg, Ohio, caught a 10-bass limit weighing 46 pounds, 7 ounces Sept. 18-19 to win $6,540 in the BFL Michigan Division tournament on the Detroit River. Trombly was using tubes in weedy areas along the North Shore to sack his limits.

WHAT: Scott Davis of Coloma, Mich., caught a 10-bass limit weighing 30 pounds, 11 ounces Sept. 18-19 to win $2,270 in the Co-angler Division. He was using a drop-shot near the mouth of the river to sack his limits.

NOTES: The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings from the Michigan Division have now qualified for the Oct. 21-23 Regional Championship on Kentucky Lake in Gilbertsville, Ky. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
