Poveromo’s World of Saltwater Fishing visits the U.S. Naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, for ESPN2’s telecast on Sunday, March 15, at 7:30 a.m. ET. Host George Poveromo, who was invited by the U.S. Navy, takes U.S. Joint Task Force Operation members fishing during his week-long trip. The first episode of the two-part series showcases the sailors’ fishing passion, their fishing club, their stories and life at the base.
ESPN Outdoors personality Jose Wejebe takes Spanish Fly viewers to Hopedale, La., to sight fish for large redfish. The episode starts with Wejebe meeting brothers Travis and Bryan Holeman at their trailer. The following morning on the Gulf of Mexico waters, the trio is able to spot numerous tailing redfish that are estimated at over 20 pounds. Sunday’s Spanish Fly will start at 9:30 a.m.
Fishing Adventurer host Cyril Chauquet travels to Puerto Rico for Sunday’s 8:30 a.m. telecast on ESPN2. Chauquet is focused on catching tarpon and learns about the large tarpon out of San Juan’s San Jose Lagoon.
On Saturday, March 14, viewers can catch encore presentations of A Day on the Lake featuring Bassmaster Elite Series pro Gary Klein of Weatherford, Texas, at 8 a.m., followed by World’s Greatest Fishing Show with ESPN Outdoors host Mark Zona and two-time Bassmaster Weekend Series champion Jeff Coble at 8:30 a.m.
