Anglers Quest 2004 Twin Lake Saturday Series #18 on Lake Houston out of Lake Houston Marina in Huffman, TX began this event with 40 Teamed anglers showing up to fish for the GUARANTEED cash purse of $1480.00. The event began at safe light, which was 6:45 am. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm. This Series after all 20 events will provide the Team Anglers of the year with free entries to all 2005 Saturday Series events. The Top 25 teams will go to the Championship in November. All A/Q Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to fish for, for a very small entry fee of $105.00 per team.

Lake Houston water was in decent shape at about normal pool level, with water temps running in the high 80’s in the main lake and up north in the creeks and bayou’s. The weather at takeoff was a very nice and calm 87 degrees which turned into a very hot afternoon at 97 degrees. The fishing and catching was decent on Lake Houston today as 5 limits were brought to the scales for a total of 51 bass at 104.85 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.05 lb.

David Wheaton from Huffman & Tansley Bynog Sr from Porter, Tx ran Tansley’s Skeeter/Mariner bass rig to the E Fork creek to catch and cull their best limit of 5 bass throwing c-rigged centipedes & craw worms on points and ended up tipping the scales with a very nice sack at 13.06 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect the GUARANTEED $1000.00. David & Tansley also had the 1st Big Bass of the event, a fine 3.74 lber to collect an additional $140.00 to give them an $1140.00 payday.

Mark Rouse from LaPorte & Randy Quin from Huffman, Tx ran Randy’s Champion/Mercury bass rig to E Fork creek areas to cull from 6 keepers to their best limit of 5 bass flipping TX rigged brush hogs to 1-3 ft laydowns and brush and ended up tipping the scales at 13.00 lbs to finish in 2nd place and collect $280.00. Mark & Randy also had the 2nd Big Bass of the day at 3.63 lbs to collect an additional $60.00 to give them a $340.00 payday.

Albert White from Houston & Bill Harlan from Crosby, Tx ran Bill’s Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig to E Fork creek areas to catch their best limit of 5 bass throwing crank baits to 5-6 ft piers and brush and ended up tipping the scales at 11.07 lbs to finish in 3rd place.

The next Guaranteed $1000.00 to win Saturday series event will be on Lake Livingston on October 2, enter at Kickapoo Bait & Tackle anytime. A/Q will be back on Lake Houston Saturday, October 16 for the final # 20 of the Guaranteed $1000.00 Saturday events for 2004.
