Wisconsin River Series Qualifier on Lake Nokomis was a Huge Success

Lake Nokomis in Tomahawk, WI was the site of the second qualifying tournament in the Central Wisconsin River Tour presented by MinnKota, Humminbird and the Stevens Point Brewery on Saturday, June 27th. Forty-five teams took off from the launch ramp in the Town of Bradley in search of the biggest 5-fish limit.

Weather played a factor with the anglers as it was relatively calm and that made for a very warm day- some anglers had issues with the heat. The anglers were targeting Largemouth and Smallmouth with a legal length of 14″ or more. Many limits were brought to the scales with nearly half the field having double digit weights!

The Weigh-in started at just after 3:00 p.m. When the scores were tallied, the fifth place team was Kyle and Scott Kettenhoven with a 5-fish weighing in at 12.96 pounds. Fourth Place was captured by Dan Hofmann and Kris Hanes with a 14.65 pound bag . Third Place was locked in by the 14.72 pound limit of Clair and Raffe Hulce. Larry Felton and Mark Vozka captured second place with five fish weighing in at 14.86 pounds. In the end there was only one team weighing in over 14 pounds. That First Place team was Andy Dassow and Robin Pester with 15.00 pounds for their five fish.

Big Bass of the Day was a very nice Smallmouth caught by the team of Trevor Mildenberger and Amanda Fillmore. It weighed 4.79 pounds. Big Largemouth of the day was caught by the team of Clair and Raffe Hulce and it weighed 4.49 pounds.

The next stop for the Central Wisconsin River Series presented by MinnKota, Humminbird and the Stevens Point Brewery will be at the Rhinelander Flowage- Boom lake qualifier on July 25th.
